New EMN inform "Misuse of authorisations to reside in the EU for the purpose of study"

On 8 March 2022 an inform of the European Migration Network on preventing, detecting, and tackling situations where authorisations to reside in the EU for the purpose of study are misused was published

This new inform aims to map experiences and approaches across the EU in preventing and addressing situations where authorisations are potentially misused for a purpose other than for study. The inform distinguishes between the pre- and post-arrival phase. In the pre-arrival phase, focus is on prevention of potential misuse of authorisations. The post-arrival phase, concentrates on detecting possible cases of misuse once an authorisation has been issued, highlighting the main methods adopted by Member states and the consequences linked to such cases.
