Just published: A new inform on the transition of unaccompanied minors to adulthood

This EMN inform provides answers to questions about what happens to unaccompanied minors when they reach the age of 18 and how European Union members and Norway help on their journey to adult life

The inform points out that the number of minors seeking asylum for the first time in 2021 has increased compared to the number from 2019 and 2020.

The age limit for aftercare and support services for unaccompanied minors who have transitioned to adulthood, in some Member States, is between 19 and 30, and includes support in independent housing and educational and financial assistance.
