EMN conference on labor migration within the European Union in Prague
Conference of the European Migration Network took place on 5th and 6th of October 2022 in Prague
As the name of the conference suggests, "The EU and labor migration: needs, strategies and challenges", the experts at the conference discussed attracting talented labor force to the European labor market, as well as labor migration management and cooperation with non-members of the European Union.Additionally, special attention was paid to the question of strengthening the success of the European Union in attracting qualified workers on a global level. Through a total of four panels, the topics of labor migration routes, cooperation with countries outside the European Union, migrant workers in the EU and attracting talent and the impact of new technologies on labor migration were discussed.
Examples of good practice of innovative initiatives, projects and programs were presented at the conference. The introductory panel invited the participants to reflect on the needs, strategies and challenges in the field of migration work.
The head of the Service for Foreigners of the Ministry of the Interior, Anita Mandić, and the coordinator of EMN NCP Croatia, Ivana Perlić Glamočak, also participated in this conference.
The aim of this conference was to bring together policy makers from member states and EU institutions, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, economic and social partners, the private sector and non-EU countries in order to encourage a good exchange of information and raise awareness, exchange best practices and gain new perspectives on the issue of labor migration management.
